Scott Frost Gives An Update On Quarterback Adrian Martinez
Nebraska quarterback Adrian Martinez looked very good today for the Huskers, but left the game late with an injury. With Martinez out, Colorado took a 33-28 lead on a beautiful touchdown throw from Steven Montez to Laviska Shenault Jr. Walk-on back-up quarterback Andrew Bunch couldn’t answer for the Huskers, and the Buffaloes picked up the win. After an entertaining, tough game, a season-opening loss is pretty disappointing for Scott Frost’s team. There were definite signs of improvement, and Martinez looks like he’ll be an exciting play all year for the Huskers. If he’s healthy enough to play, of course. After the game Scott Frost gave a pretty optimistic update on the Adrian Martinez injury situation. From beat writer Parker Gabriel:Frost called news on Adrian Martinez so far, “Semi-encouraging.” But will wait to talk more about it until more information is in to talk specifics. #Huskers— Parker Gabriel (@HuskerExtraPG) September 8, 2018Martinez was seen with his knee “heavily wrapped” leaving the field after the loss.Adrian Martinez walks off the field with his right knee heavily wrapped.— Sam McKewon (@swmckewonOWH) September 8, 2018After a cancelled Week 1 game against Akron, and a tough Week 2 loss, Nebraska has to wait another week for its first win of the Scott Frost era.Next week, the Huskers host Troy, a tough Sun Belt team that won at LSU last season.
