Sushil Modi trades charges with Tejashwi
Slamming Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav for possessing property worth over ₹3 crore in Patna, which was recently attached by the Income Tax Department, Deputy Chief Minister Sushil Kumar Modi on Saturday asked him to publicly explain how he came to own such a large property in the State capital. Mr. Yadav said in response that Mr. Sushil Modi was in the habit of making frivolous allegations against his family but “never turns up for one-on-one discussions”.Mr. Modi told journalists in Patna, “Tejashwi Yadav purchased the building on a 7,105 sq ft plot, priced at over ₹3.5 core at that time, through a shell company, Fairgrow Holdings, registered at a fake address in Kolkata. It is the same property that the I-T Department has been trying to find for the last year.”“Tejashwi [Yadav] should explain when the land was purchased and who owns this land and the house. He should also explain whose black money was invested in Fairgrow Holdings, which was not operational. He should also disclose what connection this house had with animal husbandry scam accused R. K. Rana.”Mr. Modi said that he, too, had stated in June 2017 that former Chief Minister Lalu Prasad’s family had purchased a large house in the State capital, but it was not detected at the time because the purchase was made through a shell company.
