BUSINESS NAME: The Work Organizer BUSINESS ADDRESS: 9909 Topanga Canyon Blvd. #256, Chatsworth PHONE: (818) 884-8798 WEB SITE: www.theworkorganizer.com, [email protected] OWNER: Cindy Faith Ross ESTABLISHED: 2005 NUMBER OF EMPLOYEES: Just me DESCRIBE YOUR BUSINESS: I’m an efficiency expert providing service to individuals and businesses needing to organize, prioritize and maintain systems whether it’s office, home or otherwise. The Work Organizer provides productive solutions to everyday living. IS THIS YOUR FIRST BUSINESS? Yes WHY DID YOU START THIS BUSINESS? I’ve always been good at developing and implementing systems. I wanted to provide a service to individuals where I can help them decrease their stress and increase their efficiency. And I wanted to be my own boss. WHERE DID YOU GET THE IDEA? From many years working in corporate America and finding my strengths were in administration and managing others. HOW LONG WAS IT FROM CONCEPT TO OPENING? About a year. WHAT DID YOU DO DURING THAT TIME? I joined a networking group; did a lot of research; asked friends, colleagues and family members questions about their troubles in the workplace; and shopped around for office supplies and storage units. WHAT WERE YOUR STARTUP COSTS AND HOW DID YOU FINANCE THE BUSINESS? Minimal. Most of the start-up costs were in time networking with others, participating in events and speaking engagements. WHO DID YOU RELY ON FOR ADVICE? My family, friends, former and present colleagues and my accountant. WHAT HADN’T YOU CONSIDERED BEFORE OPENING? Just how many businesses there were that could benefit from my expertise, particularly in niche markets like real estate, accounting and Internet retail. WHAT IS YOUR EXPECTED REVENUE THIS YEAR? $50,000 to $100,000, hopefully. WHAT GOALS DO YOU HAVE FOR THE COMPANY? To increase my referral business. To increase revenue by 30 percent annually. To do monthly public speaking and to expand to outlying areas of Los Angeles. I would also eventually like to franchise. To be considered for a small-business profile, you should have fewer than 10 employees and be locally based. For a free profile questionnaire, call (818) 713-3699.last_img read more
